Modexe ("the app") is provided by Modexe, Ltd. ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the app you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

The app

Modexe is a local-first notes app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Your content is stored on your own devices and, if you're signed in to iCloud, synced through your own private iCloud storage. We don't operate servers that hold your content and we can't access it. How we handle data is described in our Privacy Policy.

Purchases

Modexe offers an optional one-time purchase and an optional subscription that unlock the same Pro features. All purchases, renewals, and refunds are handled by Apple through the App Store and are subject to Apple's terms. Manage or cancel a subscription in your device's Settings.

Your content

You own everything you create in Modexe. We claim no rights to your content. You're responsible for keeping your own backups; while iCloud sync and export to Markdown and CSV are provided, we're not liable for loss of content.

Acceptable use

Use the app lawfully. Don't attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer for unlawful purposes, or misuse the app in ways that harm others.

Warranty and liability

The app is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a revised effective date.
